Notes for Understanding
Even at the time when God created the earth and humankind, a war broke out in heaven. Lucifer rebelled against God and became Satan, the devil, and God’s adversary.
God had created man so that He might have a counterpart with whom He could maintain fellowship on equal terms. To this end, God created a domain for man over which he was to rule, and He gave him reason as well as free will. After God had placed man in the Garden of Eden, He gave man dominion over the earth and everything created upon it.
But the devil hates everything God has created for His glory (John 10:10). He comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. Thus, he also manipulated man (Genesis 3:1) into rebelling against God and doing “his own thing.”
Man thereby opened himself up to the devil’s influence, and the devil thus indirectly gained dominion over man and the creation entrusted to him. The earth and creation remained under man’s dominion. Yet the devil increasingly influenced how man would manage them and ultimately contribute to his goal of destroying this work of God.
When spiritual beings—such as demons, fallen angels, and indeed God’s angels—wish to dwell in the physical realm of the earth, it costs them a great deal of energy. To recharge this energy, they need gateways or portals to the spiritual world. These are the altars. These must be maintained and cared for. The devil erected many altars.
To this end, he made agreements and pacts with humans for every part of creation, which must be renewed at regular intervals (usually every 1–3 years). Behind countless, seemingly harmless customs lie satanic rituals that actually serve to renew pacts with the devil for the next period.
See the lecture (https://erlebe-jesus.de/1711) by Dr. John Mulinde, which he delivered on March 30, 2026, in Suhl.
These pacts that the devil makes with people enable him to exert increasing influence over them in all areas.
When God met Abraham, He prompted him to traverse the land and build physical altars everywhere. In this way, God’s angels gained strategic platforms from which they can operate on earth to this day.
Jesus did indeed defeat the devil on Golgotha and thereby snatched the key to Hades from him. Yet humans still possess free will, and the devil continues to exert a manipulative influence on the human soul.
A person who repents, accepts Jesus as the Son of God, his Lord and Savior, and confesses this in faith is born again at that very moment. Thus, the spirit of that person is united with the Spirit of God. Yet the salvation of the soul, with its free will and intellect, must be accomplished by the person himself with God’s help (Philippians 2:12).
Thus, from the moment of their conversion, every born-again Christian finds themselves in the midst of a war that takes place primarily in their mind and thoughts. Anyone who examines this fact closely will come to realize that thoughts influence the human heart and can therefore kill, both quickly and slowly, in a tormenting way.
In the early days, we are especially protected and shielded by God. But as we grow spiritually, we become increasingly responsible for the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2) and for guarding our hearts (Proverbs 4:23). For this, God has given us spiritual weapons (Ephesians 6:10–18), and we must learn to use them.
In order to receive help from heaven unhindered, we need an altar!
Through Jesus’ victory, we no longer need to physically erect altars; instead, we can build them together with God in prayer. A personal altar opens heaven to us, allowing God’s angels to enter the physical world at any time without hindrance and stand by us, without the devil being able to prevent it. Furthermore, the Kingdom of God can spread wherever Christians are who remain unceasingly connected to God before His face through a burning altar.
